Resolve

My New Year's Resolution was to start my 365 Project. That means taking at least one photo a day for 365 days. It's a good thing that I left myself a little grace for days that life gets in the way, because I forgot what day it was and didn't go out to shoot today. I just got lazy after my visit to South Florida.

My daughter and son-in-law took a mini-vacation since she works for the school system and won't be able to take vacation in May with the rest of the family. So, they decided to come to Florida for 5 days. We spent last Saturday at Busch Gardens, then I went down on Tuesday to spend some time in South Florida with them. I only could stay over one night because I had to work on Wednesday. Luckily, my job has very flexible hours, so I stayed over on Tuesday night and drove home early on Wednesday. I got home at 12:30pm and went into work at 1:00. So, today I was very tired and stayed in all day.

So, back to my resolution. I have decided that if life gets in the way, I will still post 1 photo from my last shoot. That way, I'll cover myself and won't be so discouraged if I'm not able to go out to shoot.

I realize I will miss a few days throughout the year due to vacations, for medical reasons or whatever, but if I do, part of my resolution says I'll have to make it up with multiple posts.

Without any further discussion, here is my first post from the Lion Country Safari in Loxahatchee, Florida.

  1. Thanks for sharing this great photo and the details about where you were. Tapirs are beautiful creatures, and this is a great photo of two of them and their dinner company. :-) I haven't heard of Lion Country Safari, so when I'm in Florida next, I'll be sure to check it out.

Good luck with Project 365, and I'll be sure to keep up with your posts.

  2. Nice shot! I love how sharp your shot is, especially in the hairs on the tapir's back! Great detail!
